The following contribution comes from our own Lisa Sullivan, Digital Media Marketing Director. Thanks, Lisa! We’re now hungry.
On a recent Saturday morning while shooting video as part of our Social Media Ambassadorship with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, I found myself pausing for some nourishment at Maggiano’s Little Italy at the Streets of Southpoint Mall in Durham. Boy am I glad I stopped in!
Enter Maggiano’s and you’re instantly transformed into an almost forgotten time. With Frank Sinatra playing in the background you are warmly greeted and seated by a friendly host or hostess. Immediately thereafter, an equally friendly member of the waitstaff stops by to greet you again and offer an opportunity to order a beverage while you glance at a menu filled with delectable Italian fare.
On that day, I ordered a staple of mine, one of my favorite dishes – Fettuccine Alfredo, fettuccine noodles tossed in a garlic and Asiago cream sauce. Maggiano’s does it right too. Mine was mouth-watering good! And because I ordered one of their Classic dishes, I also received an equal portion to take home, which is funny because I could only eat 2/3rds of what was on my plate and ended up taking the other third home too. Three meals for the price of one! Can’t beat that.
I also ordered a very special beverage to help donate to a very worthy cause.
For the last couple of months, Maggiano’s has been running a campaign to help raise donations for the Make-A-Wish Foundation appropriately entitled “Eat a Dish for Make-A-Wish”. Through the campaign there are select menu items and some specially created ones in which a portion of the proceeds goes to the Foundation. I ordered the simple but delicious “Lauren’s Lemonade”. Perfect for that particular warm Saturday. Nice and refreshing! And I knew while enjoying the beverage I was giving to a good cause too.
I’ve never been disappointed by Maggiano’s food or service. It’s always exceptional. The fact that they give back to charitable organizations from time to time is not lost on me either and probably one of the reasons writing this review goes hand in hand with what we do here at Fonville Morisey too as we strive to give back to organizations in our community as well. Win-win in my book!
If you haven’t visited Maggiano’s in some time, I recommend that you at least go for dinner tonight. It’s the last evening of the “Eat a Dish for Make-A-Wish” campaign. Go grab a scrumptious meal and give to a worthy cause at the same time….and if you do go, leave a comment below to let us know how it was too!
