What a journey Scotty McCreery has had!
A year ago he was just a high school junior with a golden ticket to Hollywood courtesy of American Idol.
A year later he’s the American Idol Season 10 winner with a CD – Clear As Day - that debuted at #1 on the charts (across all genres to boot!); he’s scheduled to tour with reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year and ACM Top Male Vocalist Brad Paisley in 2012, and the demands on his time and talent continue through the 2011 holiday season. All this while still maintaining a full schedule of classes at Garner High. WOW. Who can keep up?
More Voting Contests
We at Fonville Morisey Realty continue to support Scotty and his family in every way possible (Remember, his mom Judy has been an agent with us for over 10 years!). Many of us attended his Birthday Bash this past October and we find ourselves voting for him in whatever industry contest is out there with the most recent one being the Taste of Country Showdown between Scotty and Justin Moore. He’s already beaten out Jason Aldean and Chris Young in the first two weeks of the Showdown. Voting ends this Sunday. Should he win this week’s contest, he moves on to next week and will continue until he’s “retired” as a winner four weeks in a row.
The second voting contest is for Scotty to win the 2nd Annual American Country Award for Artist of the Year: New Artist. This is a fan-voted award and for Scotty to win his fans need to vote once a day for their favorites until THIS Friday, November 11th. Scotty is also slated to perform on the show LIVE, Monday December 5th on FOX. You can bet we’ll be voting here as well.
We’d also like to see Scotty win a spot (preferably a TOP spot) in the Great American Country Top 50 Videos of the Year. Voting takes place daily between now and December 12th.
We Love a Parade!
And if that isn’t enough, Scotty appears in two parades this month – as the Grand Marshall for the Raleigh Christmas Parade on November 19th and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 24th. Presented by the Greater Raleigh Merchant’s Association and Shop Local Raleigh, the Raleigh Christmas Parade is the largest parade between Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Of course, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the hottest ticket on the East Coast every year as it marks the beginning of the holiday season in many respects.
Scotty Sings for the Kids
As we posted a couple of months ago, Scotty is scheduled to appear at the annual WQDR 94.7FM “Country for the Kids” concert at the DPAC on November 30th. As of this writing, tickets are still available.
More Scotty on TV Starting TONIGHT!
Tonight at 10pm on ABC be sure to catch “In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: All Access Nashville”. Robin takes the cameras into a glimpse of Scotty’s life back home in Garner, NC as part of what has become a yearly tradition for Ms. Roberts. The show airs the night before the Country Music Association Awards, which also air on ABC starting at 8/7c, Wednesday November 9th and which Scotty is performing a song from his new album, Clear As Day too! Then, the next night Scotty sticks around Nashville to participate in the CMA Country Christmas special hosted by Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles. It’s a LIVE show that evening that will be recorded and broadcast on ABC on December 1st beginning at 9pm.
