FonvilleMoriseyHwy54DonationsFonville Morisey Realty Sales Associates recently challenged one another to see which office could collect the most food for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina’s KIDS Summer Stock Program.

This July, each office competed to fill special bags donated by FM Lending Services.  The offices wrote blogs and shot video to drive the collection efforts, with a different office declared as the winner each week.  After all of the food was weighed and the bags were counted, congratulations were sent to the overall winner – the Highway 54 office, managed by Brandon Penny.

Hats off to the Highway 54 office and to all of the offices and sales associates who worked so hard in collecting nearly 2,000 pounds of food for the KIDS Summer Stock Program!

Each year, Fonville Morisey Realty reaches out to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina in some way, as part of its commitment to supporting the nonprofit agency’s efforts to alleviate hunger across the Triangle.

Summer can be a difficult time because the need for food support is at its highest. Children on summer break do not have access to the federally-funded School Breakfast and Lunch programs that help thousands during the academic school year. For many low income families, this puts an extra strain on already limited food budgets.

The public can get involved in the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina’s KIDS Summer Stock Program by making a donation or organizing a food drive in the workplace or neighborhood. Donations may be made online at foodbankcenc.org or brought to the Food Bank at 3808 Tarheel Drive in Raleigh, Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm. This summer’s most needed food items include peanut butter, jelly or jam, canned tuna fish, soups and stews, rice, canned chili, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, tomato sauce, macaroni and cheese and cereal.

This initiative was just one more way Fonville Morisey gives back to our community in need.  Our latest campaign will raise awareness and funds for the Triangle Chapter of the American Heart Association as we sponsor the Triangle Heart Walk on September 25th.  Stay tuned for a blog post all about that initiative there!
