Triangle 4th of July Events

This fourth of July, pull out your flags and streamers and head to one of the Triangle’s many ceremonial events. From festivals to concerts, your whole family will have blast celebrating our nation’s independence. The Durham Bulls and Mudcats stadiums both host dazzling fireworks shows at night and you can enjoy the following events all day long:

Festival for the Eno, Durham (July 3-4)
With more than 90 performers, on 40 stages, the Festival features a variety of activities, all with an environmental or cultural connection to the river. The Eno River Association is committed to the preservation of the nature, culture, and history of the Eno River basin. This three-day event features kids activities, a sustainable Home and Garden Expo, traditional and international food, hands-on-clay, face painting, dance workshops, craft demonstrations, and more.

NC State Capitol Celebration, Raleigh (July 4)
Pack a picnic and bring your lawn chairs and blankets to this family friendly event which will offer the public a variety of musical performances, historical and military displays, a craft demonstration, and several hands-on and play activities for children. There will be musical performances inside of the Capitol and outside on the square from groups such as the Raleigh Concert Band, the Moonlighters Orchestra, and the Starcatchers vocal ensemble.

Koka Booth Amphitheatre, Cary (July 4)
Celebrate our nation’s 235th year with patriotic favorites and the Triangle’s biggest fireworks display. This free event includes a performance by the Cary Town Band followed by the North Carolina Symphony. Kids activities, ice cream eating contests, picnicking and fun abound!

Lake Benson Park, Garner (July 3)
You just can’t beat a free concert with fireworks.  The North Carolina Symphony will perform favorites by Tchaikovsky, John Williams, Leroy Anderson, John Philip Sousa and many, many more. Come early to grab the very best seat for one of the area’s biggest fireworks displays.

NC State Fair July 4th Celebration, Raleigh (July 4)
Presented by The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the NC State Fair, this event features Independence Day hat-making, dance instruction, a Nature Program, a Taiko Japanese drumming performance, Dorton Arena’s giant obstacle course, Wii games, contests, scavenger hunts, inflatables, live entertainment, music, fireworks and more.

Wake Forest Celebration, Wake Forest (July 3-4)
Now in its 39th year, Wake Forest’s Independence Day celebration is one of the area’s most eagerly-anticipated summer-time events serving up two days-worth of fun and excitement for the entire family. Enjoy fireworks, games, and live entertainment.
