nc symphony summerfestThis summer, bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs and head over to Regency Park for musical evenings under the stars. The North Carolina Symphony’s popular Summerfest series returned on May 28 and will continue through the summer with a great lineup of outdoor concerts. Sponsored by Rex Healthcare, the events are the perfect way to spend a summer night al fresco with the whole family.

The nationally acclaimed NC Symphony is one of the Triangles most precious resources. This summer marks the 26th anniversary of performances at Regency Park and the orchestra’s 11th season in the spectacular lakeside pavilion. Cary’s Koka Booth Amphitheatre is as much about the atmosphere as it is about the entertainment. This multi-million dollar project truly turned into a world-class venue. Located among 14 acres of stately hardwoods and pines and situated next to Symphony Lake, the amphitheatre is truly spectacular.

Says Diane Donnelly, Vice President and Sales Manager at our Preston office -

“Our family has always taken advantage of having the Koka Booth Amphitheatre right in our midst.  We have watched it grow from having no-name performers to the star-studded line up that we have today.   It has been a tradition to see the 4th of July fireworks through the years, and we have enjoyed the kids movie nights, symphony performances and festivals.  The crowds have grown but the hometown feel is still there.  It is unique to Cary and once you go, you will be back!”

I'm partial to the NC Art Museum's outdoor film series. Last year on a beautiful summer evening they showed 80s cult-classic "The Breakfast Club" on the back wall of the museum. There's something to be said about sitting under the moon and the stars in a comfy lawn chair with friends and catching a flick!
